Remote Video

We mostly see this in broadcast events or the How-To rooms. When I first saw the Remote Video. There are so many things I can use for some of my quest rooms that I'm making.

Will it ever come out?

  The way the video screens work is that they use CDN links. Only Rec Room themself can add them to the game. This might become public where you can upload a video and get it reviewed to become a Intergrated CDN. Just like Roblox where you upload an audio, and it gets reviews and given its own ID. The video player will not be public for a long while.

  There is a desktop share screen available, but with 1-2 frames per second. If they would just make that more reliable like Bigscreen does. For a video player, they have used it in a couple events now, like the kiosk looking display in Rec Con or the recent movies. They are using pre-loaded files on their servers that are then being played locally to the individuals viewing it. You can request it through support on a case by case basis, like for specific events.

  It has been said my Atlas himself that the video screen with not be coming out to the public for a long long while. You cannot request for the Remote Video Player because it uses CDN links which only staff can upload them to the game. I mentioned CDN links in the above comment. The Remote Video Player is a DEV only item and it will stay like that for a while. Unless it is requestable.

  If you can find any sources that you can apply for Remote Video Player access and that it is open to public for events, please correct me : ) I am going from knowledge that I have heard and seen.

  There is a process in which you can gain broadcast permissions for events and with that can request permission to use the remote player screen. You have to send them a MP4 no larger than 100MB and they upload it and provide you the ID to use on the player for it. It is a very limited process and I don't know if applications are still available, but it was opened up more after Rec Con.

  Jack You are mostly correct  but i believe if the use is for business or Partnerships you can Request Access Trough a Ticket. I'm in the process of requesting it due to a partnership currently.
