CV2 Events for Moderation (Player Kick/Player Ban Event)
When someone in the instance is kicked or banned, you can retrieve basic data via an event receiver CV2 chip.
Kick
The player kicked.
The player who kicked/started the vote kick.
Maybe the reason of the kick ???? (optional, but useful)
Ban
The banned player.
The player who ban.
How are we going to use this? 🤷♂️
Personally, I plan to use it to create moderation logs. But I imagine it could have another use for other creators.
The why? 🤔
- The kick is a major issue. When there's no host and no moderator, a room is a wild jungle where the law of the strongest applies. Trolls and stalkers use kicks falsely, and we need to at least know what's going on so we can act in consequence on our maps. We can't disable kick in our rooms, so let us at least know the minimum please. These are our maps, and players who kick falsely are hurting our rooms, I hope you'll understand that.
- The ban is something else. When it comes to kicking, we can't do anything, but when it comes to banning, it's the moderators cause that WE choose. But how can I explain this? We need moderators for a big map, that's clear. But we can't have bad moderators, otherwise it would be useless. So we need to know what our moderators are doing. (I guess you know what I mean. Every good moderation needs logs in order to work, I'm talking about when the user/player count is large). Yes, we can create our own moderation system with logs, but adding that little chip that can save us all a lot of work and is more a way of helping the creators and making the game better. I hope you can understand that.
Rec Room is no longer a small game, and community rooms are now the biggest part of it. Big community room = big moderation
It's no longer just about self-moderation, we need to have solid moderation to maintain a healthy space.

So this is a first step. A BIG STEP.
The second, would be to be able to check cloud variables data in rec.net.
I don't know if there's already a post about this (I hope I'm not the only one asking for it), but I swear it's really important for the maps! I hope this can change things. This will be a big move!

It would be interesting to be able to receive the event before the player leave the room, in order to execute circuits on the targeted player

This is an interesting idea and if I where able to do this or other creators where able to do this they'd probably use it for moderation but also somthing like kicking you back to the dorm or bans to a room for a game of Russian rullet witch I think might be cool
