Combating account theft / redoing old promotional events to lessen account worth

-RecRoom inc getting into contact with servios to do another raw data promotion. If you have been in recroom for a while now you are very aware of the account stealing epidemic, the main targets of these malicious players are from the early eras of recroom, in which these accounts hold items such as raw data cosmetics. If recroom inc where going to rerelease these items (words from a user who owns these items that inspired me to make this post this post) “it would make me fear less about my account security and others can finally experience the items for themselves, though it would be nice if I could catch a break from kids asking if I was a stolen user”. Though rereleasing won’t fully eliminate the problem it would completely kill the market for account sellers as currently the most common account to be sold or stolen is a raw data user. I do understand that recroom cannot release these items again for legal reasons maybe contacting servios (the developers of raw data) could solve this issue entirely. Pt2. Removing API access to the casual user and only allowing trusted users who have contacted recroom to access the api. The api is a pretty unknown thing in the recroomiverse as shedding light on this is extremely important, many malicious users actually use this api to filter older accounts into discord or databases to which these might be targeted by others to be sold. Pt3. Remove deprecated items such as poofy dresses and hockey shirts, from what info I have collected and seen, 2nd to the raw data cosmetics deprecated items inside of accounts are also targeted for account selling, this is due to their goofy appearance and are used as a status symbol in the recroom community, what I can recommend is rereleasing the poofy dress as a normal cosmetic or removing it as in most players opinions the dress looks just fine in recrooms catalog of wacky items, but for the hockey shirt removing it seems to be the best option as it serves not much of a purpose (though I might get some hate for this post, you have to remember people are stealing accounts over some models and textures in a video game) FinalPt. Talking more about early era items such as raw data or other obscure shirts (sfvrcc, 1st birthday etc) I think rolling out the birthday shirt for 2016-2017 users seems to be the best option as it chronologically makes sense (or remove it from the game as it has no use) for raw data maybe have a promotional room where once you enter you earn the first set (I.e bishop) and maybe have it like the invasion events where you have to earn the latter (I.e saija) this would be a good way of rolling it back out rather than just giving it straight back into the community. (Remember I’m only doing this so people who dont have time for the game don’t have their accounts stolen. Looking at you rust remastered players) Cheers!
