Rec Room is available to play on PlayStation 5.
There are two versions of Rec Room available to download on the PlayStation 5.
- Native version of Rec Room for the PS5
- The backwards compatible version of Rec Room for the PS4
The native version of Rec Room is a native PS5 version of Rec Room that enjoys massively reduced load times, increased resolution and graphics. However, you can only play on screen mode. This version does not support VR.
The backwards compatible version of Rec Room for the PS4 is the version of the game that runs on PS4 but can also run on PS5. If you use the original PSVR headset to play Rec Room in VR, this is the version of the game you want to download on your PS5. You can enjoy massively increased performance compared to playing VR Rec Room on the PS4 and some increase to load times.
