If another player is breaking the Code of Conduct, below are a few ways to report them:
Report In-Game
To initiate an in-game report, open the player's profile.
- You can do this in a few different ways: point at them then press your trigger button (VR), press and hold the tab key while their avatar is highlighted (console & screens), tap on them (mobile), etc.
- You can also find their profile in your watch by tapping the People tab at the bottom of your watch menu. Then select the "People" tab at the top of the watch, followed by either "Here Now" (if they are still in the room with you) or "Recent" (if they are no longer in the room).
Once you have their profile open, select the "Report" button.
- A pop-up screen will open, with various options, such as: Votekick, Mute, Report, and Block.
- Votekick: This will prompt other players in the room to vote on whether to kick the person from the room.
- Mute: This will make you no longer hear this person.
- Report: This will submit a report against this player's account.
- Block: This will prevent both you and the player from interacting with each other.
- To proceed with submitting a report, select the "Report" option on this screen.
You will then see the below screen. Follow these steps to complete the report:
- Step 1: Select a reason from the available list.
- Step 2: From the dropdown, select the specific conduct that violated the Code of Conduct.
- Step 3: Type specific details about the incident. (The more details you can provide, the better our team can investigate.)
- Step 4: Select "SUBMIT"
Last step: you will see a pop-up asking you to confirm that your report is accurate (see below screenshot).
- If you are certain you have reported the correct player, and that you have selected the correct Code of Conduct violation, select "REPORT PLAYER" to finalize and submit your report.
From here, our moderation team will investigate and take appropriate action as necessary. However, to protect our players' privacy, we cannot provide updates on our investigation or the actions we take.
Report Through Zendesk
If you have additional information to add to your report beyond the above options, then you can also submit a support ticket with us. Please include the following information in your ticket:
- the player's username (please use their unique @username instead of their display name if possible)
- the approximate time and date of the incident in-game.
- a description of the incident, including any photos, screencaps, or video that you have (you may upload videos unlisted on YouTube or Streamable and just send us that link).
Once you have gathered the above information for your report, feel free to send us a ticket.
As mentioned above, to protect our players' privacy, we cannot provide updates on our investigation or the actions we take.
Report Behavior Outside of Rec Room
For most situations, we are not able to take action against messages or incidents that happen outside of Rec Room. If you are being harassed or are receiving direct communications from other players outside of an officially supported Rec Room service or public forum, please take action using that platform's moderation tools or report procedures. This includes direct messages on Discord, Reddit, Steam, and other platforms, as well as emails, phone calls, other messaging services, or real world interactions. More resources are below.

Please note that users are still welcome to report users to us for serious infractions that require our attention even if most of the behavior took place outside of the game and the user believes without a doubt that Rec Room deserves to know, and/or if the behavior they're reporting for was a mix of in-game and out-of-game behavior. We will take serious inquiries and examine them with the respect that they deserve.
We still urge users to also report any out-of-game behavior to the exact platform where it took place so that they are able to take appropriate action as well.
